MNSU Printing & Photocopy Services August 2016 - Present I started out working for printing services as a student employee. My role was to troubleshoot issues with printers and copiers, assist students with printing, make copies, and sell stamps, envelopes and other office supplies. In August 2017, I was promoted to Shop Supervisor, which means that I am currently in charge of the library copy room. I had worked in a few of our other locations before this, but as of now I work in the library only. Additional responsibilities given to me with the promotion were to order supplies and take monthly inventory. I also make sure that everything in the shop is running smoothly. This job has been a wonderful opportunity for me to improve my customer service, money handling, and technical skills.
Presbyterian Homes & Services - Certified Nursing Assistant May 2017 - Present As a pre-nursing student working towards my Bachelor of Science in Nursing, it was very important to me to start working in the nursing field as soon as possible. I received the job offer from Presbyterian Homes and Services immediately after my interview at their Boutwell's Landing campus, located in Oak Park Heights, MN. I was thrilled to start my nursing journey and I loved my job from the very first day. I started my job in the long term care unit, and focused mostly on helping my residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and other things throughout the day while promoting both their independence and their dignity. I am currently working in transitional care, which means that the patients are only there temporarily. My role changed a bit when I switched units, my overall goal is to help my patients heal and gain back their independence so they can go home. I enjoy transitional care a lot because it is much more like what I will be doing as an RN. I have seen many unique cases, and built relationships with everyone in my care. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to work for such an amazing company.
